Wildlife

With the huge popularity of television programmes such as the BBC’s ‘Springwatch’ and ‘Autumnwatch’ more and more of us are becoming aware that we live cheek by jowl with wildlife.
Building up a respectful relationship with wildlife is extremely rewarding. Although it is important to recognise that the animals and insects that comprise ‘wildlife’ are not pets, you can make your garden, backyard, or even window ledge a prime spot for these visitors. Doing so also helps the planet by maintaining biodiversity.
The most noticeable visitors to your garden will be wild birds but, depending on the size of your garden and what you provide in the form of attractions, you may also get butterflies, squirrels, hedgehogs, frogs, newts and toads, all manner of humming, buzzing insects, swans and ducks and even badgers.
Our guide covers basic guidelines on how to provide the right food for wildlife visitors and also how to humanely deter ‘The Unwanted’.
Just click on the 'pet care’ tab.
We hope you find the information useful. Don’t forget to tell us what you would like to see here on the website.
